Summary:
The Quality Control Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Maintain DCS/QCS software and hardware (scanners, measurements, preventative maintenance, etc.
).
Programming and implementation of process systems measurements and controls (I/O termination and implementation).
Report and coordinate via work order or other means to departments need to complete functional repair (valves, starters, pumps fans, AC, etc.
).
Assist with all controls related projects.
(ABB DCS, Allen Bradley PLC) Plan and coordinate new projects from conceptual phase to installation and implementation.
Update documentation of process systems and drawings as changes/additions are made.
Create and provide instruction for training of Operations, I&E Maintenance and Technical personnel on control subjects as needed.
Provide technical support to the production departments as needed.
Actively involved in energy and property conservation.
On-call as needed to support operations.
Observe all safety procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in chemical/mechanical engineering or Pulp and Paper Science.
Prefer a minimum of 2 to 5 years total experience in Pulp and Paper Process, process control, project engineering, maintenance, or operations.
Strong project team or task group leadership skills.
Good understanding of control systems theory and application.
Knowledge and skills in process control engineering, which include but not limited to industrial communications networks, field instruments, valves and analyzers, multi-variable control, and Program Logic Controls; or ability to building understanding and knowledge quickly in those areas.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to wear all required safety equipment.
Ability to work at heights and confined spaces.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment which requires the use of appropriate safety equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in all areas of the Mill.
In some areas hard hats may be required.
Cut-resistant gloves and face shields may be required while performing some duties.
Fast-paced environment while working under pressure.
Smoke-free property.
